Inspectors work with operators to make sure that these violations are corrected whenever feasible before they leave the establishment. A re-inspection may be scheduled to verify compliance.
  • Non-Critical, Minor or Good Retail Practice Violations: These violations are not directly related to the cause of illness or injury, but if uncorrected, could negatively affect the operation of the facility, such as maintenance and cleanliness.

Inspector Comments: An employee was observed touching ready-to-eat blizzard (ice cream) with her bare hands. Corrective Action: The inspector educated the person in charge to use a barrier, such as gloves or utensils, when working with ready to eat foods.

Proper date marking and disposition
Inspector Comments: An open package of confetti icing, an open container of brownie batter base, and an open can of whipped cream were date marked with discard dates past 7 days. Corrective Action: The inspector educated the person in charge about appropriate date marking procedures. The person in charge discarded the confetti icing and brownie batter base (see voluntary condemnation).
