Inspectors work with operators to make sure that these violations are corrected whenever feasible before they leave the establishment. A re-inspection may be scheduled to verify compliance.
  • Non-Critical, Minor or Good Retail Practice Violations: These violations are not directly related to the cause of illness or injury, but if uncorrected, could negatively affect the operation of the facility, such as maintenance and cleanliness.

Hands clean & properly washed
Inspector Comments: An employee was observed pre-rinsing lunch trays, moving them into the dish machine, and then handling them after they had been sanitized without washing their hands in-between. Corrective Action: The inspector discussed appropriate handwashing times with the person in charge.

Food contact surfaces; cleaned & sanitized
Inspector Comments: An employee was observed rinsing off lunch trays after they had been sanitized in the dish machine. Corrective Action: The inspector advised the person in charge to ensure employees allow dishes to air-dry and to not rinse off the sanitizer.
39 - Good Retail Practices
Contamination prevented during food preparation, storage & display
Inspector Comments: Ice located in a cooler in the seating area and meant to be available for beverages was observed to have a container of cream cheese and a carton of milk stored in it. Corrective Action: The inspector educated the person in charge that ice used as an ingredient cannot be used to keep items cold.

Inspector Comments: An ice scoop was observed sitting, handle down, in the ice in the cooler in the seating area.
