  • Critical, Major, or Foodborne Illness Risk Factor Violations: These violations are more likely than other violations to contribute to illness or injury. Inspectors work with operators to make sure that these violations are corrected whenever feasible before they leave the establishment. A re-inspection may be scheduled to verify compliance.
  • Non-Critical, Minor or Good Retail Practice Violations: These violations are not directly related to the cause of illness or injury, but if uncorrected, could negatively affect the operation of the facility, such as maintenance and cleanliness.

Adequate handwashing sinks properly supplied and accessible
Inspector Comments: 6-301.11 Handwashing Cleanser, Availability (Pf) The hand soap dispenser was not functional in the restroom and so hand soap was not available. Corrective Action: The inspector advised the person in charge to fix the dispenser or find another method by which to provide soap. 6-301.14 Handwashing Signage (C) None of the hand sinks had signs advising employees to wash their hands. Corrective Action: The inspector advised the person in charge to acquire signage.

Plumbing installed; proper backflow devices
Inspector Comments: 5-202.14 Backflow Prevention Device, Design Standard (P) A shut-off wye-valve was observed downstream of a backflow prevention device at the mop sink. Corrective Action: The inspector educated the person in charge that shut-off valves should not be used downstream of the backflow preventer device as it can result in failure.

Adequate handwashing sinks properly supplied and accessible
Inspector Comments: A plastic container was located in the basin of the kitchen handsink rendering it inaccessible for hand washing. The hand sinks in the kitchen did not have signs that told employees to wash their hands. Corrective Action: The container was removed, and the inspector reviewed hand sink use with the person in charge. The inspector provided hand washing signs to the operator.

Toxic substances properly identified, stored & used
Inspector Comments: Butane canisters in the dry storage area were observed stored with single use food containers. Corrective Action: The canisters were moved to an approved location.

Inspector Comments: Multiple buckets of food in the walk-in refrigerator were not stored at least 6" off the floor.
