Inspection Information

Inspections are based on regulations that are designed to eliminate risk factors for food borne disease. Each violation of these regulations is listed under the inspection.
Violation Types
Priority (P): The highest risk violations which are directly related to an increased risk of foodborne illness. Examples include improper handwashing, unsafe food temperatures.
Priority foundation (Pf): Violations that can create a high risk (Priority) violation. Examples include lack of soap at a handsink, no calibrated thermometer, no test strips to check sanitizer levels.
Core (C): Lower risk violations. Examples include general maintenance of facility (floors, walls, ceilings).

Correction Requirements: (P) and (Pf) violations must be corrected immediately when possible. Follow-up inspections occur to ensure all of these violations have been resolved if not corrected during the routine inspection. (C) violation corrections are verified at the next routine inspection.

01/20/2024 - ROUTINE INSPECTION
  3-501.16 - PRIORITY
Violation Comments:Cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise in the Pepsi cooler had a temperature of 44F at the time of the inspection. Potentially hazardous foods (time and temperature controlled for safety) held cold must held at or below 41F to limit the growth of harmful bacteria and production of toxins. Corrected on site: The person in charge discarded the items and will only hold the replacement items in the other cooler, which was holding all items below 40F at the time of the inspection.
  4-501.11 - CORE
Violation Comments:At the time of the inspection the Pepsi cooler was not able to hold the food contents kept in it at 41F or below. Equipment must be kept in good working repair that meets manufacturers specifications. To correct: Have the equipment repaired so that it consistently holds contents at 41F or below, or, if this is not possible, replace the unit with one that is meant to hold foods instead of just drinks. Note: the person in charge had already contacted someone to come repair the unit before the inspector left, and expects it to be repaired in the next few days. Provide proof of correction via pictures and invoice to kchulski@miottawa.org after the repaired or replaced unit is used the following weekend when the concession is open and the unit can be monitored for consistency for a full day. Check the temperature for a full day, while in use, to make sure the unit can handle being opened and closed and still keep the contents at 41F or below. Provide this as proof of correction.
